We got two days of remote work done from the window seat, doors thrown open to the sun — the location couldn't be beaten for cafés, park and pubs.

“

Superbly renovated — a brilliant kitchen, huge TV, comfortable bed — and properly quiet despite sitting right in the middle of Finnieston's restaurant strip.

Where you'll be

Between the city and the water, with history on the doorstep

Finnieston has become Glasgow's most talked-about neighbourhood — a tight cluster of independent restaurants, cocktail bars and coffee roasters sitting neatly between the city centre and the West End.

The skyline is still shaped by the area's shipbuilding past. The Finnieston Crane, an enormous cantilever crane built in 1931 to load locomotives and heavy machinery onto ships bound across the world, still stands over the Clyde as the last of its kind — a working reminder of Glasgow's years as the Second City of the Empire.

Further along the quay you'll find the Scottish Event Campus and the Clyde Arc, and a short walk brings you to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and the Riverside Museum, two of the city's best free days out.

Finnieston Crane

175ft cantilever crane, built 1931 — the last of its kind on the Clyde.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum

22 galleries, including Dalí's Christ of St John of the Cross.

Riverside Museum

Zaha Hadid-designed home of Glasgow's transport collection — 3,000+ exhibits, plus the tall ship Glenlee.

SEC & Clyde Arc

Glasgow's events campus and the city's landmark curved bridge, both a short walk along the quay.
